Fairy Meadow bashing victim

WOLLONGONG Detectives want to speak with young men who they believe are responsible for a serious assault of a man near Fairy Meadow Surf Club last month.

Police allege that the 59 year old victim was set upon by two to three  men aged in their 20s, who struck the victim to the head with an object, about 3.15am on Sunday September 30.

The men also damaged the victims car as he fled the scene.

Detectives want to speak to any persons who may have witnessed the assault or any suspicious activity around that time. The three men were sighted nearby in possession of a sledge hammer or similar object shortly before the offence.
