Couple foil armed Corrimal intruder

police 8WOLLONGONG police are appealing for public assistance after a man threatened two people with a firearm at Corrimal about 4am today (Saturday January 18).

A man went to a home on Eager Street, armed with a shotgun before knocking on the front door and threatening two people inside. He tried to gain entry; however, the occupants, a 54-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, managed to close the door.

The man has been described as being of Pacific Islander/ Maori appearance, 18 to 20 years old, 173cm tall, medium build, tanned complexion with dark hair. He was wearing a black tracksuit top.
