Scarborough robber charged

POLICE have charged a man after two alleged aggravated break-ins and an alleged aggravated armed robbery
About 10.50pm on Tuesday April 2, a 53-year-old woman and her two children were in a house on Lawerence Hargrave Drive, Scarborough. A man entered the house and allegedly threatened the woman with a knife demanding cash, she complied and handed over a sum of cash.
The man then took two laptops, again allegedly threatened the woman and then left the premises.
Police were called and Wollongong police commenced an investigation.Later in the month, at 7.45pm Wednesday April 16, a 54-year-old man, and two women aged 50 and 19, were dining at their Bootie Street home Balgownie when two men entered the house.
The men went to the dining room and allegedly threatened them with a knife before demanding the trio get on the floor. Jewellery, documents and a small sum of money was stolen.
The men then allegedly took the 54-year-old to his Audi where they drove around to a number of ATMs in the area. They demanded the man access his accounts and withdrew various amounts of cash.
The man was allegedly forced into the boot of his vehicle and assaulted.
The pair drove to another ATM at Shellharbour and then caught a taxi.
The man managed to free himself from the boot and contacted police from Wollongong Local Area Command, who attended and commenced an investigation.
About 11.20pm on Saturday April 26 police were called to a club on Noorinan Street, following reports of an armed robbery.P
Police have been told two men allegedly armed with a pistol and a knife entered the club and threatened staff, demanding cash.
Officers have been told a male patron challenged the man armed with the gun, who discharged it.The round missed the patron and hit the wall behind him, the offender then left on foot with a quantity of cash.
No one was injured during the incident.Lake Illawarra Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the robbery.
About 8.15am on Tuesday April 29 police from Wollongong Local Area Command attended a home on Linum Place, Barrack Heights and executed a search warrant.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Wollongong Police Station. He was later charged with 13 offences including aggravated break enter and commit serious indictable offence, detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and several firearm offences.
