
AN investigation is underway after five people spray-painted a train at Otford on Saturday.
The train was en route from Sydney to Wollongong when it stopped at Otford Railway Station about 12.40am.
Police have been told five people spray-painted two carriages with graffiti while it was stopped at the platform
Police were alerted but the five had left the scene when they arrived a few minutes later.
A search of the area was conducted and several items seized for forensic examination. All had their faces covered.
A police dog tracked a scent to nearby Station Street, where investigators believe their car was parked.
Police are now appealing for information to identify those responsible. Anyone with information about the incident or those involved, should call Wollongong Police, the Police Transport Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
