Girl approached Balgownie

POLICE are appealing for information after a girl was approached in Balgownie yesterday.
About 4.20pm on Tuesday a 14-year-old girl was walking on Balgownie Road, when she saw a man on the opposite of the road.
The man appeared to slow down and speed up imitating the girl. She became afraid and called her father, who arrived soon after.
Wollongong police searched the area, but could not find the man. An investigation was commenced and officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
The man police would like to speak to was described as African appearance, between 170cm to 185cm tall, slim and muscular, wearing dark jeans, a black long sleeve t-shirt with orange, white and maroon shapes on it, a black cap and black sunglasses. Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
