Investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the death of a motorbike rider at Bellambi last Monday.
Emergency services were called to the southern end of Bellambi Beach about 8.30pm (Monday December 29) following reports of a motorcycle accident.
On arrival officers located the rider dead, and his pillion passenger suffering a broken arm.
The woman was taken to Wollongong Hospital where she was treated and later released.
Early investigations suggest the rider may have fallen down a steep embankment near the sewage treatment plant.
A full investigation is underway, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
