LIFEGUARDS have closed Coledale and Scarborough beaches today, (Wednesday) after a shark was spotted close to shore around midday.
The shark was seen by a member of the public who reported it to Lifeguards. Lifeguards immediately closed the beach and called in all swimmers and board riders.
Jet skis were used to move the shark further out to sea. The beaches remain closed at this time as a precaution and Lifeguards will continue to monitor the situation.
