Fairy Meadow glassing

police 8A MAN has been charged over a glassing at a Fairy Meadow pub last Friday night.

About 11.45pm, a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old man became involved in an altercation outside the deck area of the Princes Highway hotel.

Police will allege that a 25-year-old man smashed a schooner glass striking the older man to the face. The injured man later went to Corrimal Medical Centre for treatment after he recieved a deep laceration to the face, requiring seven stitches.

On Sunday, the injured man went to Wollongong Police Station and reported the incident. On Tuesday the 25-year-old man went to Wollongong Police Station where he was arrested and charged with reckless wounding. He was released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday October 4.
