POLICE investigating the Woonona shooting last week have charged a second man.
Just after 2.30pm last Wednesday, emergency services were called to Mountain Avenue, Woonona, after a man reported he had been shot.
Police will allege the 29-year-old man was shot in nearby Joanne Street before getting into his car and driving to Mountain Avenue. He suffered facial injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Sydney in a serious but stable condition.
The man’s injuries were not considered life threatening and he has since been released from hospital.
Wollongong detectives established Strike Force Bunko to investigate the incident and have arrested and charged a 28-year-old man, who is before the courts.
Following further inquiries, about 7pm yesterday (Tuesday), a 24-year-old man attended Wollongong Police Station where he was arrested. He was charged with accessory after the fact attempted serious indictable offence. He was refused bail to face Wollongong Local Court today. Inquiries are continuing.
