Fernhill building gets upgrade

A TENDER for the refurbishment of the Fernhill Soccer Club amenities building has been accepted by Wollongong City Council.

The refurbishment includes:

  • Works to fix and repair the structural cracking and external brickwork
  • A new roof over the main building
  • Replacing the metal awning including structural, drainage and electrical lighting elements
  • Fitting out the internal rooms – home and away change rooms, referees room and kiosk

The works to the amenities block is part of Council’s commitment to reinvesting in local sport fields and meets one of the Wollongong 2022 goals to create a liveable and healthy city.

We’ve consulted with the Fernhill Soccer Club committee and to minimise the impact on users these works will take place in the soccer off-season from the start of October.
