POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help find a man believed to have shot at a home and fired a single shot at three officers in Bellambi.
About 11.30pm on Friday, police were patrolling the area when they saw a man running from a house in Armour Street, Bellambi.
A second man, aged 41, and who was a resident inside the home, informed police a number of shots had been fired into the premises.
Police followed the first man toward a track on Bott Drive, and commenced a foot pursuit. As they approached a fence, the officers allegedly heard a shot being fired and terminated the pursuit.
Wollongong police established a crime scene and canvassed the area, where a firearm was located and seized outside a home on Bott Drive.
No one was injured during the incident and it is believed the shooting is targeted. Investigations are underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
