POLICE patrolling Lysaght Street Fairy Meadow have stopped a Honda Odyssey for a random breath test, finding the driver was disqualified until 2029.
The 40-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday February 6.
Operation Safe Arrival, the State’s Christmas and New Year road safety campaign, got underway on Friday, and will continue until Monday January 1.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy of the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command said there are more police on roads targeting drivers for dangerous behaviours that may result in loss of life on our roads, including; speeding, drink and drug-driving, mobile phone use, and not wearing seatbelts, and double demerits apply throughout the duration of the operation.
