A report will be prepared for the Coroner following the drowning death of a man at Stanwell Park Beach today.
Emergency services were called to the northern end of Stanwell Park Beach off The Drive, just before 1.45pm, following reports of a distressed swimmer in the water.
A man was pulled from the water by lifesavers and attempts to revive the man were made until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived.
The 24-year-old man was taken to Wollongong Hospital; however, he died.
Wollongong police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
