
A search for a reported missing person in the surf off Bulli was called-off this when darkness set-in tonight
A SEARCH for a possible person in the surf off Bulli Beach, near ‘The Pines’, east of Ocean Park soccer fields, was called-off when darkness fell today.
This evening Surf Lifesaving Illawarra was notified of reports of a possible person about 120 metres off shore.
Multiple emergency services responded including NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, Toll Rescue Helicopter 208, Surf Lifesaving Illawarra Duty Officers, and Bulli Surf Club emergency team.
A search was conducted with the IRB conducting line searches offshore with two lifesaving rescue swimmers searching in the water and rock platforms.
Green ocean dye was released in the water to assist rescue crews searching from the air and water to assist with directions of ocean currents.
After a extensive search along the beach, water and air, the search was called off due to darkness, There has been no further reports of missing person and no items of clothing were found on the beach.
Investigations will continue into the incident tomorrow.
