A MAN is before the courts charged over an alleged stabbing at Fairy Meadow last month.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Daisy Street, Fairy Meadow about 10.25am on Saturday November 30, after reports of a stabbing.
Police officers found a 42-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest. Police allege the wound may have been self inflicted. He was treated at the scene and airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A second man – aged 71 – was treated at Wollongong Hospital with multiple stab wounds.
Wollongong police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
When released from hospital, the 42-year-old man was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a person with intent.
