Lady Wakehurst Drive to close for maintenance work

MOTORISTS are advised by Transport for NSW of the closure of Lady Wakehurst Drive between Otford and Waterfall next week.

The road will be closed in both directions from Otford Road to McKell Avenue between 8am and 3pm from Wednesday November 4 to Friday November 6, weather permitting.

Maintenance work includes general maintenance, trimming vegetation and clearing gutters and drains to improve safety for motorists.

Audio tactile line marking will be installed along the centreline of the road, to further improve safety. Line marking will also be installed at various locations for about seven kilometres between Bald Hill to Lilyvale, north of Stanwell Park.

The work is being carried out within the routine road closure to minimise impacts to motorists and surrounding residents.

Detours will be in place via McKell Avenue, the M1 Princes Motorway and Lawrence Hargrave Drive and are expected to add about 10 minutes to journeys.

Commuters using Otford Railway Station will need to park on the western side of the station, or use the pedestrian access from Station Road on the eastern side of the station.

Access on foot to Otford Lookout and walking tracks and beaches in the Royal National Park will not be affected by the closure.

Transport for NSW advise motorists to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control. More information about upcoming road closures, including detour maps are available at nswroads.work/srrc
