Picton Road closed for maintenance: Traffic diverted to Appin Road

ROAD users are advised of an upcoming road closure on Picton Road for maintenance work next weekend.

Work includes vegetation removal, line marking, guardrail repairs and cleaning drains to improve water run-off.

Road users travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway will be detoured via the M1 Princes Motorway, Mount Ousley Road and Appin Road and should allow up to 20 minutes additional travel time.

Light vehicles can also use Broughton Pass between Appin Road and Picton Road.

Road users travelling to the Hume Motorway can also detour via Macquarie Pass.

Picton Road will be closed in both directions between the M1 and Wilton on Sunday May 16 between 8pm and 4am while work is carried out to improve safety, weather permitting.

More information about upcoming road closures including detour maps is available at nswroads.work/srrc.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
