POLICE have charged a man and woman following a barricade incident near Wollongong.
The pair entered a townhouse on Carters Lane, Fairy Meadow, just after 10am on Tuesday and allegedly forced out the woman homeowner.
Wollongong police responded quickly to the incident and established a perimeter. Additional resources, including negotiators and officers from the Tactical Operations Unit and Dog Unit, were deployed to the scene when the pair refused to come outside.
About 3.20pm, heavily-armed officers forced entry to the residence and arrested a 45-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, without incident.
They were taken to Wollongong Police Station where both have been charged with enter enclosed lands, intimidation, and other related offences. Both were refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court today.
