A SYSTEM error in an offsite computer has affected all parking meters in Wollongong’s CBD.
The parking meters are recording the wrong time and are not providing a ticket for users.
Wollongong City Council advises that there will be no fines today (Monday November 26) for not displaying a valid parking ticket. However drivers are asked that they restrict their parking to the current limits set on the parking signs.
Council’s Rangers will be issuing fines for people who overstay the parking restrictions.
The systems error is also affecting other local governments.
Council said it is now working to address the parking meter problem.
