MOUNT Keira Road will remain closed for safety reasons until further notice.
Wollongong City Council recently completed road works uphill from the archery range. Council’s geotechnical staff has found that another section of road further has subsided further.
Mt Keira Road will be fully closed between the archery range and the Scout Camp and partially closed between the Scout Camp and Queen Elizabeth Drive to allow access for residents and businesses only in that section of the road.
Access to the archery range and Girl Guides Camp will be via the Princes Highway. Access to the Mt Keira Scout Camp, telecommunication tower and Mt Keira Summit Lookout will be via Clive Bissell Drive and/or Picton Road. Signage will be in place throughout the closure.
Emergency services organisations including the Rural Fire Service have been notified of these changes.
