A MAN is assisting police with their inquiries following an alleged domestic assault at Mount Pleasant earlier today.

Police attended a residence in Mount Pleasant, where they found an 83-year-old woman with head injuries and an 83-year-old man with a number of fractures about about 6.15am.

Both are receiving treatment in Wollongong Hospital.

A 47-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries into this incident. A crime scene has been established at the location.
