police 7A SECURITY guard has been charged over the alleged indecent assault and attempted sexual assault of a teenage girl on a Wollongong train earlier in the year.

In July 2013, officers attached to the Police Transport Command commenced investigations into the alleged attempted sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.

On Saturday April 27, the 53-year-old man was working as a security guard on a city-bound train when it is alleged he allowed two teenage girls into the guard’s compartment.

While inside the guard compartment the man allegedly indecently assaulted and attempted to sexually assault the 17-year-old girl.

The incident was later reported to police with detectives from the Police Transport Command arresting the man yesterday afternoon (Friday).

He was charged with attempted sexual intercourse without consent and assault with act of indecency. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday September 10. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
