A WOMAN is facing court after a cyclist was hit by a car at Helensburgh earlier this month.
Officers believe a 58-year-old man was riding his pushbike south along the Old Princes Highway about 6.15am on Sunday January 5, when he was struck by a vehicle. The man was found injured next to the roadway by a group of other cyclists a short time later.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for a number of suspected fractures, before he was taken to St George Hospital.
Wollongong police launched an investigation which culminated on Wednesday with the charging of a 23-year-old Engadine woman. She was charged with negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm, failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.
The woman was granted conditional bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday February 18.
