POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery of a Woonona bottle shop last night.
About 8.20pm (Monday), two attendants, a 43-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were at the counter of a bottle store on Popes Road when two people approached the counter with their faces covered.
The thieves threatened the attendants with a large knife, demanding cash.
They handed over a sum of cash before the thieves fled on foot.
Wollongong police and specialist forensic officers attended and have commenced an investigation.
No one was injured during the robbery
One person was described to officers as Caucasian appearance, aged in the 20s, wearing black jeans and a dark hooded jumper. The other was described as wearing a blue jumper and blue jeans.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with any information to contact the authorities.
