police 2POLICE are investigating after two firearms were allegedly stolen following a break and enter in Fernhill earlier this week.

Shortly after 6.30am on Monday  June 6, an employee returned to his work place on Pringle Road finding the roller door had been forced open.

The man told police a firearm safe, containing two guns and ammunition had been taken, along with a laptop. The laptop was later found in a paddock at the back of the business.

Wollongong police arrived and established a crime scene and commenced an investigation. A sledgehammer and crowbar were found at the scene and both will undergo forensic examination.

Investigations are continuing, with police urging anyone with information to contact Wollongong Police Station on 02 4226 7899.
