POLICE are investigating a stabbing at Balgownie on Wednesday.
About 6.30pm, emergency services were called to a liquor store on Balgownie Road, when an apparently injured man entered the store.
A 62-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a small puncture wound to his abdomen. His injury was not considered life-threatening and he was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.
Wollongong police were advised of the incident and attended the scene. Initial investigations suggest the man was approached by an unknown person on Farrell Street who injured the man with an unknown object.
