Police carTWO men will face court next month charged with larceny after allegedly stealing cash from a veteran in Corrimal.

Police have been told a 79-year-old man went to a bank to withdraw cash, before going to a supermarket on the Princess Highway, Corrimal, about 11am on Thursday April 27. He left a bag, which contained the cash and a number of other items, in a trolley after he finished shopping.

Police will allege a 58-year-old man picked up the bag and handed it to man in car which was parked nearby. About 11.30am the elderly man went back to the shopping centre to try and find his bag and when he was unsuccessful, he reported the incident to police.

Following inquiries, Wollongong police arrested and charged a 59-year-old man and 58-year-old man with larceny. Both men were granted conditional bail and are due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday May 23.
