THE ongoing wet weather across the Illawarra has continued to have an impact on road conditions along Lawrence Hargrave Drive.

Transport for NSW has taken precautions by restricting the road to single lane operations at two locations after the recent heavy rain caused more damage.

Temporary traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h are now in place on Lawrence Hargrave Drive between Chellow Dene Avenue and Railway Crescent at Stanwell Park and also near Scarborough Public School.

Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic control at these locations and allow up to five minutes additional travel time.

Transport is also repairing landslip damage at Coalcliff caused by the severe weather.

Transport will continue to provide updates to the community when more detail becomes available on the repair plans.
