
A MAN is before the courts after he was charged by police on Tuesday with a number of alleged domestic violence offences.
Police were contacted on Sunday (21 July 2024) following concerns for the welfare of a 48-year-old woman, after she was allegedly threatened a number of times – once allegedly with a weapon.
Police officers attached to the Southern Domestic Violence High Risk Offenders Team attended a home in Devenish Street, Tarrawanna about 1.40pm on Tuesday (23 July 2024) where they arrested a 40-year-old man in the backyard.
Police will allege in court that methylamphetamine and heroin was found in his possession when searched.
The man was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with intentionally choke etc person without consent (DV), armed with intent to commit indictable offence, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), common assault (DV) and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
