The damaged road surface

THE first stage of work to repair landslip damage on Lawrence Hargrave Drive between Railway Crescent and Chellow Dene Avenue at Stanwell Park is about to commence.
Relocating a power pole: This first stage of work must be completed before any other work can begin.
Work to relocate the power pole is scheduled for Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 September 2024 between 8pm and 4am each night, weather permitting.
Lawrence Hargrave Drive, between Railway Crescent and Chellow Dene Avenue, will be closed to all traffic during these work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
Detours will be in place. Motorists are advised to allow an extra 25 minutes’ travel time.
Motorists travelling south to Stanwell Park will detour via the M1 Princes Motorway to Bulli Pass and then north on Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
Motorists travelling north to Stanwell Tops will detour via Bulli Pass to the M1 Princes Motorway and Lawrence Hargrave Drive from the Helensburgh exit.

Repairing the landslip area: The landslip repair work involves excavating the section of slope and then rebuilding the road base with new material.
Transport for NSW is planning to begin the landslip repair work in coming weeks.
Replacing the road surface: The final stage of the program is to resurface the road and replace the guardrail. Transport will keep the community informed about this work at Stanwell Park.
