Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Cabbage Tree Lane at Fairy Meadow from this week while work to upgrade the traffic lights is carried out. 

Night work will include replacing the traffic light posts, cabling and control boxes as well switching the traffic signaling system over to ‘extra low voltage’ to increase electrical safety at the site.

Work will be carried out between 6pm and 5am Sunday to Thursday nights, from Thursday 19 September 2024 for six weeks, weather permitting.   

Single lane closures, a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h and stop/slow traffic control will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists. 

Traffic lights at this intersection will be turned off during work hours and traffic through the intersection will be managed under traffic control.  

Motorists are advised to allow five minutes’ additional travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
