
COUNCILLORS for Wollongong City Council have been declared following the 14 September election.
There are 12 councillors in total, with four returning councillors from the previous term and eight new councillors.
Labor’s Tania Brown has been elected as the city’s lord mayor.
In a first for Wollongong, three Greens councillors have been elected in each of the city’s three wards. However, Labor continues to hold the balance of power at city hall.

Councillors will commence their official duties from 8 October. The first ordinary meeting of the new Council will be held on Monday 28 October. There will also be an extraordinary meeting of Council held in the coming weeks for the councillors and lord mayor to take the Oath or Affirmation of Office and to elect the deputy lord mayor.
