A MAN has been charged following the discovery of an alleged hydroponic set up in a Bellambi property.

About 1.50pm yesterday (Thursday 18 October 2024), Wollongong Police executed a search warrant at the Bellambi home.

A crime scene was established.

During the search of the home, officers allegedly found a sophisticated hydroponic set up across four rooms.

Police seized 19 plants and equipment consistent with the cultivation of cannabis.

A 56-year-old man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Wollongong Police Station. He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited drug.

The man was given strict conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 3 December 2024.
