WORK crews are preparing to start repairs to landslip damage on Lawrence Hargrave Drive, south of Coalcliff, at the beginning of the Sea Cliff Bridge.
Transport for NSW contractors will begin on Monday 4 November and the work is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
Specialist contractors will carry out the work, which will include using a long-reach crane to lift materials and equipment from the bridge and down to the work area below.
On the rocky ground below the bridge, workers will install soil nails, mesh and sprayed concrete, also known as shotcrete, to secure part of the landslip area and prevent further erosion.
The work will be carried out Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm.
During work hours, the road will be limited to a single lane under stop/slow traffic control to ensure the safety of motorists and workers. Motorists should expect short delays of up to five minutes.
Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to have access along the Sea Cliff Bridge shared path throughout this work.
