MOTORISTS are advised of changed traffic conditions from this weekend on Pioneer Road between Lake Parade and Station Street in East Corrimal.

Work will be carried out from Sunday 17 November to upgrade the traffic signalling equipment outside of Corrimal East Public School and take up to four weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Work will include replacing the old traffic light posts, cabling and control boxes which were originally commissioned in 1980, as well as switching the traffic signalling system over to ‘extra low voltage’ to increase electrical safety at the site.

To minimise disruptions to road users and school students, work will be carried out Sunday to Thursday nights, between 6pm to 5am on weeknights and from 5pm to 5am on Sundays.

Single lane closures, a reduced speed limit of 40 kmh and stop/slow traffic control will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.

Traffic lights at this site will be turned off during work hours and traffic through the intersection will be managed under traffic control.

Transport for NSW advises motorists to allow five minutes’ additional travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
