THE maintenance closure of the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) and Picton Road which was scheduled for Sunday 9 March has been rescheduled due to wet weather.
The closure will now take place between 7.30pm and 4am on Sunday 16 March 2025, weather permitting.
Maintenance work will include road repair and resurfacing, vegetation maintenance, clearing gutters and drains, maintenance of safety barriers and litter collection.
The Mount Ousley interchange project team will also carry out work under these closures. Work will include utility and survey investigations, pavement work, line marking, installing temporary barriers and signs, removing guardrail and constructing site access gates, excavating material and vegetation maintenance.
The M1 Princes Motorway will be closed between Bulli Tops and Memorial Drive, and Picton Road will be closed between the M1 Princes Motorway and Almond Street, Wilton.
The roads will be closed in both directions for one night on Sunday 16 March, 7.30pm to 4am, weather permitting.
Motorists travelling between Wollongong and Bulli Tops will be detoured via Memorial Drive and Bulli Pass and should allow an additional 15 minutes’ travel time.
Motorists travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway will be detoured via Memorial Drive, Bulli Pass and Appin Road, and should allow up to 40 minutes’ additional travel time. Light vehicles can also use Wilton Road (Broughton Pass) between Appin Road and Picton Road.
Heavy vehicles over 19 metres long and more than 50.5 tonnes will not be able to access Bulli Pass and are advised to delay their journey or they will be parked.
Transport for NSW thanks the community for their patience while we carry out this essential work.
