
Due to recent wet weather, night closures of the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) and Picton Road, planned for Wednesday 28 May have been postponed.
A road closure to carry out pavement repair and road barrier work will occur on Monday 26 May between 8pm and 4am as planned.
Night closures will be carried out between 8pm and 4am on Sunday 1 June, Monday 2 June and Wednesday 4 June, weather permitting. Additional night closures are being rescheduled for later in June, with dates to be confirmed.
DUE to recent wet weather, there will be changes to the upcoming planned multiple night closures of the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) from Bulli Pass to Memorial Drive and Picton Road between M1 Princes Motorway and Almond Street at Wilton.
The Australian and NSW governments are investing in a new interchange on the M1 Princes Motorway at the base of Mount Ousley to improve connectivity, safety and efficiency for those travelling through what is considered the gateway to Wollongong.
Full road closures planned for Sunday 25 May and Wednesday 28 May have been postponed.
A full road closure to carry out emergency pavement repair work and road barrier modification work will occur on Monday 26 May between 8pm and 4am.
Multiple night closures will occur between 8pm and 4am on Sunday 1 June, Monday 2 June and Wednesday 4 June.
Additional multiple night closures are being planned for later in June, with dates to be confirmed. Should these full road closures not occur due to weather, we will notify the community in advance of rescheduled dates.
During the closures of the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) from Bulli Pass to Memorial Drive and Picton Road between M1 Princes Motorway and Almond Street at Wilton, detours will be in place:
- Light and heavy vehicles less than 19 metres long and under 50.5 tonnes travelling between Wollongong and Bulli Tops can detour via Memorial Drive and Bulli Pass.
- Heavy vehicles over 19 metres long and more than 50.5 tonnes will not be able to access Bulli Pass and are advised to delay their journey or they will be parked.
- Road users travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway can detour via Memorial Drive, Bulli Pass, Appin Road or the Illawarra Highway (Macquarie Pass).
- Light vehicles can also detour via Wilton Road (Broughton Pass).
- Local access to Mount Ousley Road between the Princes Highway and Gowan Brae Avenue will be maintained.

Electronic message signs will be used to advertise upcoming closures and you can also visit the Live Traffic NSW website for the latest traffic updates.
Temporary closure of car spaces within the commuter car park
Until Thursday 5 June, up to 23 car spaces of the commuter car park will be temporarily closed. Ten car spaces will remain open during this time.
