
THE rescheduled multiple night closures of the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road) from Bulli Pass to Memorial Drive and Picton Road between M1 Princes Motorway and Almond Street at Wilton have been set for later this month.
The works, due for earlier this month, were postponed due to wet weather.
The closures are part of the works associated with the new interchange on the M1 Princes Motorway at the base of Mount Ousley.
The night closures will occur, between 8pm and 4am on Sunday 22 June, Monday 23 June and Wednesday 25 June. Should the closures not occur due to weather, Transport for NSW will notify the community in advance of rescheduled dates.
Work during the closures includes:
- extensive removal of vegetation
- installing barriers and signs
- removing signs and gantries
- piling work for signage and gantries
- building site access gates
- removing guard rail
- completing drainage work, relocating utilities, installing temporary street lighting
- pavement work and line marking.
During the night closures, Transport for NSW will also carry out maintenance work. Work will include road repair and resurfacing, vegetation maintenance, guard rail repairs, clearing gutters and drains and litter collection to improve safety.

Detours will be in place during the closures of Mount Ousley Road from Bulli Pass to Memorial Drive and Picton Road between M1 Princes Motorway and Almond Street at Wilton.
- Light and heavy vehicles less than 19 metres long and under 50.5 tonnes travelling between Wollongong and Bulli Tops can detour via Memorial Drive and Bulli Pass.
- Heavy vehicles over 19 metres long and more than 50.5 tonnes will not be able to access Bulli Pass and are advised to delay their journey or they will be parked.
- Road users travelling between Wollongong and the Hume Motorway can detour via Memorial Drive, Bulli Pass, Appin Road or the Illawarra Highway (Macquarie Pass).
- Light vehicles can also detour via Wilton Road (Broughton Pass).
- Local access to Mount Ousley Road between the Princes Highway and Gowan Brae Avenue will be maintained.
