FROM a small lounge room in Woonona to national recognition, a children’s beach and outdoor lifestyle brand has proudly been awarded silver in the ‘Kids Accessories’ category at the prestigious 2025 Clean + Conscious Awards.

The Clean + Conscious Awards are one of Australia and New Zealand’s most respected awards programs, celebrating the best products that are safe, ethical, sustainable, and responsible.

Every entry undergoes rigorous independent research and hands-on testing by a diverse panel of experts including health professionals, journalists, sustainability leaders, and parents.

Coast Kids was awarded Silver in Kids Accessories for their hats, which are made from regenerated nylon that would otherwise end up in landfill, as well as recognised as a Finalist in the Kids Activities category for their kites made from the fibres of recycled plastic bottles.

The brand is known for its playful yet practical range of beach and poolside essentials – from their water-resistant caps, kites and castle buckets to 100% cotton hooded towels, and fun dive toys.

Their products are stocked in more than 130 stores across nine countries, and each item is designed to spark children’s imagination while standing up to real family adventures.

“We are quiet achievers and in four short years have continued to grow without celebrating our success more broadly, however to be now recognised in these prestigious awards, I feel like it authenticates what we have worked hard to achieve and is something we want to share,” Morgan Clark, co-founder of Coast Kids said.

“We are honoured that an idea that started in our lounge room floor has grown into something far beyond what we imagined.

“To have our products recognised on a national stage shows that small, local businesses can still make a big impact.”

The 2025 Clean + Conscious Awards attracted entries from hundreds of brands across Australia and New Zealand, with finalists assessed not only on performance, but also on their commitment to sustainability, transparency, and social responsibility.

This Silver award and Finalist recognition highlights Coast Kids’ journey from a local family start-up to a brand creating family-friendly essentials that are fun, durable, and conscious – while proudly representing the Illawarra on a national platform.
