
A MAN has been arrested at Corrimal following an investigation into alleged intimidation and firearms offences.
Wollongong police allege a 30-year-old man went to a home on Meadow Street, Fairy Meadow, wielding a chainsaw before threatening occupants and damaging a car with a baseball bat about 3.15am on Tuesday (16 September 2025).
About 1.30pm on Wednesday, police stopped a vehicle on Pioneer Road, Corrimal, before they arrested the 30-year-old driver. He was taken to Wollongong Police Station.
A search warrant was executed the same day at Rothery Street, Bellambi, where police allegedly seized firearms and ammunition, a chainsaw, and clothing with police insignia.
The man was charged with:
- Threaten person with intent to influence a witness
- Do act to pervert the course of justice
- Damage property
- Possess unauthorised firearm (two counts)
- Not keep firearm safely
- Possess ammunition
- Possess police uniform; and,
- Possess prohibited drug.
The man was formally refused bail and will appear at Wollongong Local Court on Thursday 2 October 2025.
