Man charged with murder after Bellambi stabbing

A MAN has been refused bail and is before the courts after a fatal stabbing at Bellambi on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Turner Esplanade, Bellambi about 6.30pm on Sunday December 18, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, Wollongong police were told two men had been involved in a fight, and that a 52-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the neck.

Police commenced CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the man died at the scene.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 51-year-old man was arrested at Tressider Place, Bellambi, about 10pm on Sunday. He was taken to Wollongong police station and charged with murder.
