As that old saying goes… all good things must come to an end.
As a retired journalist, I’ve truly enjoyed bringing you online news, information and history from Illawarra’s north for over a decade.
It’s kept me in touch with a profession that’s been kind to me for over 35 years.
From that fateful day in 1987 when I wandered into a Thirroul newspaper office and offered the Wollongong Northern News a history article for publication, to my eventual cadetship as a journalist, ensuing editorship of several suburban newspapers, and finally my role reporting for a Sydney newspaper; it’s been a rewarding journey.
After my retirement as senior journalist with the Canterbury Bankstown Torch in 2019, I continued reporting news and information online through The Bulli & Clifton Times. It was my way of keeping in touch with a career I dearly treasured.
Now it’s time to say, goodbye. Well, at least to The Bulli & Clifton Times.
The Bulli & Clifton Times will cease online publication from this month.
However, I’m not disappearing altogether online.
I will continue writing and publishing stories and other material to my other websites – Time Gents and Looking Back. Check them out, if you haven’t already.
These websites will continue my enthusiasm for writing, research and history.
I sincerely thank the many people who have supported The Bulli & Clifton Times since its establishment online in 2012. To the many people who have contributed, donated and encouraged my endevour, I genuinely extend gratitude.
