Motorcyclist hits power pole

A MOTORCYSLIST has been critically injured in a crash at Austinmer.
About 11.15am on Saturday, emergency services were called to Lawrence Hargrave Drive where a Kawasaki 1000 motorcycle had left the road near the intersection with The Grove and crashed into a pole.
The impact caused the motorcycle to split in two.
The 41-year-old rider was taken to St George Hospital for treatment of multiple fractures, including a broken leg. He is reported to be in a critical condition.
Wollongong police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
